The British animated film
A Short Vision was shown at the end of
The Ed Sullivan Show May 28, 1956. Sullivan, who had viewed the film in the UK a little more than a week earlier, told viewers it "wasn't for youngsters" before showing the film which the Associated Press reported was criticized as being "horrifying" and "terrifying" but also praised as "the best piece of anti-war propaganda ever shown." Because of demand from civic and defense groups
A Short Vision was scheduled to be shown again two weeks later.
