Bob's 13 Hallowe'en film favorites

Dead of Night
This 1940s Ealing horror anthology is one of the best of its kind. With Michael Redgrave as a ventriloquist with a lively dummy and a comic tale from H.G. Welles about two golfers.

I Walked with a Zombie
The zombification of Miss Jane Eyre.
After watching that, check out the 1945 comedy Zombies on Broadway which while not a parody of I Walked with a Zombie, it does feature calypso singer Sir Lancelot in a similar role.

The Seventh Victim
A satanic cult in Greenwich Village, suicide, a restaurant called "The Dante" and Hugh Beaumont.

White Zombie
The original zombie movie.

When it comes to classic monsters, The Mummy, The Wolf Man and even Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein are my picks.

Cat People
No, not the '80s remake. Film noir meets horror on a dark deserted street. Tom Conway's character Dr. Louis Judd also shows up in The Seventh Victim.

Nosferatu
I used to watch this on PBS in the '70s and it's still creepy. Murnau's film was taken from Stoker's Dracula and

Night of the Living Dead
"Yeah, they're dead. They're all messed up."

Freaks
One of us! One of us! Banned in the UK for 30 years.

The Night Stalker introduced us to Jeff Rice's Carl Kolshak via a Richard Matheson script.

The video kept sticking on me and it looked so good too - I am going to have to hunt it down elsewhere. Have a SPOOKY HALLOWE'EN...
You are truly a connoisseur of fine horror films, Bob old sock. Great choices all around.
